2008 Worlds

Greetings from the IFMAR Worlds!

This is Bill Jeric saying hello after the first day of practice at the 2008 World Championships. Lance and the entire crew at the Farm II track have done an incredible job with the track and entire facility, and today's weather cooperated with just enough cloud cover to keep temperatures down. Tomorrow's forecast is not optimistic, however, so competitors may have the opportunity to run for the first time in the rain. Drivers were able to complete one timed practice session of ten minutes today, with the full round taking over a little over 5 hours to complete. Two rounds of controlled practice are scheduled for Tuesday. Today was encouraging as Losi drivers completed their first practice run. Mike Truhe's car looked very smooth and set fast time of the practice round and was the only driver to complete 14 laps. Adam Drake's car was also handling well, and his time was good for 5th overall time. Notable that Americans took 8 out of the top 10 times, but I expect that will change as European and Asian drivers get used to the track. I've included a few images from the track today and I look forward to updating you tomorrow.

Everything has come down to this..

My name is Billy Fischer and tomorrow morning kicks off the 9 most important days so far in my R/C racing career. I have been racing for about 8 years now (almost 5 with Losi) and have never been so excited for a single event. Monday will start the 2008 IFMAR World Championships for 1/8th Nitro Buggy and I just can't wait. So much wrenching and practicing has been done in the past few months to prepare for this week long activity. I will be surrounded by my closest friends and teammates during this incredible race, and I have a really good feeling about our chances this year as a team. We are still pumped up from our showing at the ROAR Nationals a few months ago, and it will definitely carry through this world championship event.

2008 IFMAR Worlds

It's finally here! Tomorrow we are off to the 2008 1/8th IFMAR World Championship at The Farm 2 in N.C. I'm really excited about this event and can't wait for it to start. The pics of the track look amazing. So much planning and preparation that goes into a World Championship. We have a strong team and hopefully our hard work will payoff on September 21st! Wish us Luck!

My name is Dustin Evans. I am from 23 years old from Denver, Co. I have been racing for Losi for about a year and a half now. Many people didn't know who I was, as I have only been racing again for about 2 years. before that I took 4 years off for school and other stuff but had raced for many years before that. Aside from racing toy cars I work for Monster energy drink and enjoy watching all forms of auto racing

Saturday Series Finals

This weekend is the final round of the Southern CA Nitro Series. Thunder Alley is the host for the event. Should be another great weekend of racing in SoCal. The weather looks great for this weekend. Hopefully the weather will be nice in N.C. in a couple of weeks for the IFMAR 1/8th Off-Road Worlds. :)

Tumbleweed Classic

Well we made it home LATE last night. The main events for Sunday were delayed due to some "interesting" weather. Although the track had been rained on it had the best traction of the weekend come mains time. Me and Dustin had a good showing in qualifying and in the mains. I was able to TQ Modified 4wd and Truck; Dustin was TQ of 2wd. When all was said and done I won 2wd Modified with Dustin finishing 6th. Dustin won 4wd and Truck and I finished runner up in both... we had a good laugh about the turnaround. Lots of thanks go out to ARCOR and crew. We had a great time and will certainly make the trip again to next years Tumbleweed Classic.
