Blog Intro: Mike Truhe

My name is Mike Truhe. I'm 25 years old and born and raised in Torrance Ca. I have been racing RC cars for 8 years. I flew RC airplanes and helicopters previous to racing cars. I have loved every minute of doing what I do. It has been a great opportunity to meet alot of very cool people and have made alot of very good friends through these last 8 years. I have always raced Team Losi vehicles since i started. My first car was a XX-CR buggy. Outside of RC i like to hang out with my friends and am very easygoing and will do just about anything with a smile on my face wether it be playing some golf or just hanging out. I am looking forward to many more years with Team Losi with much success!

Losi joins USAC for sprint car action

Southern California’s Perris Auto Speedway (PAS) is considered one of the premier dirt short tracks in the country and the home of the USAC/CRA 410 sprint cars. Thousands of die hard fans pack the seats on a semi-weekly basis to watch the fast paced action. These loyal and enthusiastic fans got a treat Saturday July 19th when Losi, with the help of Pacific Coast Hobbies, set up a demo track for their 1/18 scale Sliders and Late Models. PCH also set up a beautiful display in the LOSI and Nitrotane tents handling the customers that couldn’t wait to learn more or get their own RC racers. The Losi/PCH crew also handed out Losi catalogs and information identifying Losi dealers in the outlying areas. Needless to say, this event exposed not only the speed and durability of Losi RC cars but also how easy it is to set up your own “mini-speedway” at home. Since “The PAS” hosts regular dirt Late Model and off-road race truck events I think you may see more RC demos in the near future.

Farming

I just got back from The Farm 2 for my final test before the 1/8th IFMAR Worlds. The weather was very hot, but we lucked out again by not getting any rain. The track held up awesome and the racing was great. I'll be home for a little over a week and then I'm off to the Manufacturer's Cup. Talk to you soon!

Summer Heat

As the weather in CA heats up so does the 1/8th racing action. It's been a busy couple of months with the ROAR 1/8th buggy Nationals, JBRL series, Saturday Series, testing, and preparing for the IFMAR World Championship in September. Racing this year has been great for Losi and myself. The are so many races and the competition is at an all time high.

I'm sure you all know, but Mike Truhe won the 1/8th ROAR Nationals a few weeks back with his GRP powered Losi 8ight. Billy Fischer finished second and I came home in fifth. It was a very exciting time for everyone at Losi. I was standing between Mike and Billy during the ROAR final and I was the first to congratulate Mike on a very impressive run. The first words out of Mike's mouth were, "thank you for everything, this was a team effort". This is what makes me so happy to be a part of Horizon / Losi. I feel honored to work with and to be friends with so many great people.

Matt Castellano

My name is Matt Castellano and I am 18 years old. I was born in Norwalk, Connecticut but moved to Temecula, California when I was 3 years old and have lived here ever since. I have been racing for about 6 years now and have been racing for Team Losi since August of 2006. I graduate High School tomorrow (June 13th) which will allow me to concentrate even more on racing. I plan on going to college in the Fall though I have not decided which school. Thanks for reading.

My name is Adam Drake. I’m 29 years old. I was born in Grand Rapids Michigan. I enjoy all types of racing, but 1/8th nitro off-road is my favorite. My hobbies outside of R/C include bowling, supercross, motocross and hanging out with friends and my girlfriend Ronda. I listen to almost any kind of music. I've raced for Losi since 1994 and started working for Horizon Hobby almost 8ight years ago.

Todd Hodge

My name is Todd Hodge and I am 37 years old that resides in Fontan, CA. I have worked at Losi for nearly 12 years as R&D, Team Manager, and now Product Manager. Some of my earlier development projects in my racing career have been the XXX-T, XXX-NT, JRX-S and the JRX-S Type R. My interests are quite simple as I love RC Racing as it is my passion in life. My goal for the Losi Blog will to be provide consistent feedback on my racing, Losi's racing, and technical information about Losi product.
